The security guards whom we induct are able-bodied men with minimum 10th /12th qualification. The guards are chosen in the 21 - 45 age group, having proficiency in English and Tamil, Hindi speaking guards are also enrolled on a need-based requirement. Provision of armed guards are arranged on specific demand. Postings of personnel are carried out by the senior staff of VIGIL, to comply with the unit standing orders. All the personnel of VIGIL are trained at our in-house training center at Chennai, which follows strict defence and security training standards and are carried out by EX-ARMY personnel; this training equips each security guard to handle any situation. VIGIL personnel are all uniformed and are categorized into different ranks.

The infrastructure network of VIGIL in terms of transport and wireless communication comprising of a fleet of vehicles four / two wheelers with built in radio systems, lends an effective supporting role for the field operations.
